Praise
“Faith, family, sibling loyalty, and a search that descends ever deeper into madness (or is it?) and horror… this story goes very deep and dark, and by the end, it had my head spinning. I love the way the prose changes and becomes ever more fluid and strange the deeper down the rabbit hole the main character goes, searching for his lost brother.”
—Author Maria Haskins on The Teratologist's Brother
“But what really makes this story and this way of telling it succeed is the way that Bell draws such lovely, nuanced characters and makes the reader care about them enough to hope that maybe somehow, against all odds, they will still avert tragedy.”
—Christopher Fletcher, M-Brane SF, on Elegant Threat
“My nominee as weirdest, which I consider a good thing.”, “Good images.”
—Mark L. Van Name, writer & former Executive Vice President for Ziff-Davis Media, Spacewesterns.com Senryu Contest
“I really can't stress the strangeness enough, the iconography and the sense of otherness that permeates the entities encroaching on Texas in the story... It's a story about coming to terms with loss and family and all of that and also about tangled realities and foreign gods and it's just rather neat and definitely worth checking out.”
—Charles Payseur, Quick Sip Reviews
